Breton striped shirts for men and women
Colors are a main staple of Mousqueton, whether you're a man or a woman. On the men's side, we make a point of offering colorful breton stripe t-shirts, because colors have no gender. For example, you'll find red and white sailor stripe t-shirts, or ones with yellow stripes, like the two-tone Marjan breton stripe t-shirt with its colored sleeve.
For women, shapes differ from one breton stripe t-shirt to another to suit all morphologies. Which fabric for Breton striped shirt ?
The traditionnal Breton striped shirt is made in 100%cotton which brings warmth and comfort to the wearer. At Mousqueton, we based our production of sailors clothing on natural and noble fabrics. So it's only natural that we've kept the cotton (100% cotton jersey) to make the marinières in a Breton style.
With cotton, we can make a strong statement about maintaining Breton and seafaring traditions. It's also an undeniable asset to offer our customers who like to walk along the seafront and want to flaunt their seafaring style while retaining their comfort.
How to choose between a long-sleeved or ¾-sleeved Breton shirts ?
Are you hesitating between the long sleeves characteristic of the genuine Breton marinière or the ¾ sleeves for summer style?
No hesitation : get one of each ! With the variety of colours in the Mousqueton range, you don't have to choose:
- Long sleeves Breton shirts : ideal for wearing under a pea jacket when you are out or wear it by its own inside during the winter season. It will keep your body heat.
- ¾ sleeves Breton shirt : wear it with a skirt, a short or even an overall during the summer season. Ideal for keeping you warm at the seaside while keeping a light layer.

How do you care for and wash your marinière so that it lasts a long time?
Taking care of your marinière is not a complex task in itself, and it all depends on the material your garment is made from. With the 100% cotton marinieres in our collection, it's important to follow the washing instructions. Cotton jersey tends to shrink in the washing machine. Set your washing machine to 30°C maximum and do not tumble dry or dry clean. To preserve your stripes over time, always wash your garment inside out.
